Roads

The Road Commissioner is responsible for the overall administration, supervision, and coordination of the Town’s Road Department. The position directs the work of the Road Crew, including Light and Heavy Equipment Operators, and oversees the daily operations and maintenance activities of the Department.

Responsibilities include assigning and coordinating work, supervising and supporting employees, ensuring the proper and safe operation and maintenance of Town equipment, coordinating road maintenance activities, and responding to the Town’s roadway and infrastructure needs. The Road Commissioner is also responsible for preparing, managing, and administering the Department’s annual budget and ensuring that resources are used effectively and responsibly.
