The Town of Phippsburg operates and maintains a “Goodwill” account funded by the donations of residents and taxpayers.

The account is used to assist Phippsburg families in need of heating fuel or other basic necessities (i.e. food) that they cannot afford.  The funds would only be used if there is a proven need and the applicants don’t meet the requirements for General Assistance or the item that an applicant needs help with does not fall within the guidelines of the General Assistance program.  This is a short term program and designed to assist in an emergency not to provide long term assistance. The account is administered by the General Assistance Administrator, Ross McLellan, and applicant information is kept confidential.

Citizens that need assistance with basic needs can contact Ross McLellan at the Town Office 207-389-2653 (Ext. 1201) Monday-Friday from 9-1 and 2-5. Outside hours contact 207-837-5471.

Citizens who would like to donate to this account to help those less fortunate can make out a donation check to “Town of Phippsburg” with “Goodwill Account” listed in the memo line.  Donors may request a tax deduction letter.
