Municipal Officers’ Notice of Public Hearing on Secret Ballot Referendum Issue 

Notice is hereby given that the Municipal Officers of the Town of Phippsburg will hold a public hearing on May 27, 2026  at 5:00 p.m. at Phippsburg Town Hall, 1042 Main Rd in said Town to hear public comment on the following: 

QUESTION 1: Shall the Town vote to change the Tax Collector position from Elected to Appointed by the Select Board to take effect when the current term expires on June 30, 2028? 

QUESTION 2: Shall the Town vote to change the Treasurer position from Elected to Appointed by the Select Board to take effect when the current term expires on June 30, 2028?

QUESTION 3: Shall the Town vote to change the Town Clerk position from Elected to Appointed by the Select Board to take effect when the current term expires on June 30, 2028? 

Non-Binding Referendum

Do you favor authorizing the Board of the Regional School Unit 1 to send Phippsburg students to Bath to a newly constructed school, large enough to accommodate Phippsburg students and Bath students at the earliest in 2029, and close Phippsburg Elementary School (PES)?
