Code Enforcement Officer

The issuance of permits is just one part of the Code Enforcement Office’s role. We are also here as a resource for information and guidance regarding Town ordinances and State laws.

The Code Enforcement Office can research existing permits and provide copies for property owners, prospective buyers, and sellers. We also work with applicants to help prepare applications for Planning Board meetings and guide residents to the Board of Appeals when appropriate.

If you are planning a project, please reach out before you begin. We are happy to answer questions and help determine whether a permit is required. In general, any project with a value over $1,000, whether it is inside or outside a property, requires a permit.
